Your home. Your car. A middle finger. Chest hair. The Lochness Monster.

What might they have in common?  You guessed it.  They are all insured.

While home, health, life, and car are all forms of insurance we are most familiar, there are some rather unusual items the world just wouldn’t be the same if damaged or lost.  And that makes them worthy to be insured.

Here are just a few of the most unusual things we could find that people have felt compelled to protect with insurance.

  1. The legs of Hollywood legend, Betty Grable. In 1940, each leg was insured for $1 million each, which in today’s money would be a billion dollars each.

  2. The Lochness Monster. It’s true! The elusive beast has a waiting prize of $1.5 million insured by the Cutty Sark Company for anyone that catches Nessie alive. The catch? She must be brought in on a leash.

  3. Famous Middle Finger. The Rolling Stones’ lead guitarist Keith Richards has just his middle finger insured for over $1.5 million.

  4. The Boss Voice. Famed American musician and hero Bruce Springsteen has his voice insured for a hefty $6 million. Let’s hope he keeps those pipes safe.

  5. A smoke worth insuring. Lloyd’s of London is home to the world’s most expensive insurance policy for a cigar at over $1 million. The cigar is made from over 15,000 tobacco leaves and is over 12 feet long!

  6. Chest hair. American singer Tom Jones has his beloved body hair insured for several million dollars.

  7. Magic hands. Former YoYo world champion Harvey Lowe has his money-maker hands insured for $150,000 each.

But what matters most, is insuring what matters most to you.  With Darr Schackow Insurance, our team is available to advise you on all of your insurance needs and options.  Life is unexpected.  Don’t be unprotected.  Call Darr Schackow Insurance today at 352-338-0552.
