Florida is famous for its sunny beaches perfect for tanning, but what only the locals can truly understand is the fun getting out on the water can be - on the beach, lake or river! So clean out your pontoons, spit shine your speedboats and gas up your jet skis because we have compiled a list of a few of Florida’s best boating destinations!

Some of our favorite destinations:

St. Johns River

Spend the day (or several!) cruising down the St. Johns River from Jacksonville to Melbourne. There’s plenty of space to take a pontoon fleet or go tubing.

The Keys

The Florida Keys are the epitome of a boating experience. Key Largo is full of coral reefs, tropical fish and shipwrecks.

Tampa Bay

This gorgeous bay is Florida’s largest estuary. This protected area is, on average, only 11 feet deep, which keeps the large boats “at bay” so the smaller crafts can enjoy this space.

Crystal River

Boat with the manatees along this partially salty and partially fresh water river. The flats near the mouth of the river are perfect for hunting for scallops from July to September.

Don’t forget your insurance!

Most people understand the importance of car insurance. You drive your car every day and hear about car accidents almost as often. But it’s important to remember that accidents happen on boats too and having the right insurance coverage is important for both your escape craft and its passengers.

Personal watercraft insurance policies should cover (1) bodily injury, (2) property damage, (3) guest passenger liability, (4) medical payments and (5) theft. Your current policy may cover these things, but to what extent? We can advise you on the proper amount of coverage for your specific situation.
