When it comes to enrolling in Healthcare coverage for 2018, it's important to understand the changes that can impact you and your loved ones.
Here are the 3 biggest changes that you need to be aware of during the Healthcare Open Enrollment period.
Open Enrollment Deadline
Last year, you had from November 1 until December 31 to enroll in a new Healthcare plan. For Open Enrollment this year, the deadline is much sooner. The 2017 Open Enrollment period ends on December 15.
Access to Subsidies
Finding ways to save money is on everybody's mind during the holiday season. If you didn't qualify for a subsidy last year or bother trying to qualify for one last year, you may be eligible for some assistance with paying your monthly premium. The income range to qualify for a subsidy has increased, meaning every person should check their eligibility before deciding on a Healthcare plan.
Easier Enrollment Process
For the first time, you don't need to go through the Federal Exchange (also called the Healthcare Marketplace) site to select a plan. Whether you're happy with your current plan or only have access to one Healthcare option (which is the case for many Florida residents), you can go straight through your provider to enroll for Healthcare coverage in 2018.
These are just a few of changes that will occur during Open Enrollment.
